FATAL THREAT (PLUS MORE)

Wow, I cannot believe I have never written about the Fatal Series here on the blog! Before I get into Fatal Threat, the most recent release, lets take it back a few years. 

I found about Marie Force 5-6 years ago through the Gansett Series. Like I do with other authors, immediately I went online to learn more about Marie Force and found out she had a series called Fatal Series. Back then only a couple books had been released, and bonus, the first book, Fatal Affair, was free. I flew through Fatal Affair and before I knew it, I was 3 books in. To say I was hooked was well, an understatement at best. To be honest, I think what got me so addicted was the fact that this book had everything I loved. It had both romance and mystery, 2 genres that I love, so it was like a match made in heaven. What I love about the Fatal series is that its like watching a tv show, but inside your own head. If you like romance and mystery in one, if you like reading series, and if you like having an interactive author, the Fatal Series is definitely for you! Right now, the first three books of the series are free (in the bundle)! If you have been hesitant, dive in now and you will not regret it!!!! 

Now, lets get back to present day! Today, is release day for the latest in the Fatal Series....FATAL THREAT!!!!! I have been patiently (or not) waiting for this release for a year... and it was totally worth it. I LOVED it. I tried so hard to "take it slow," but it was not happening. I had to know who did what and why and gosh I was racing through it like anything. So, the book picks up at Sam, excuse me, Lieutenant Holland, driving to a crime scene, where she is abducted by the Secret Service and taken to an underground safety place. There, she is met with her family members who are confused why they are at this unknown location. It is later revealed that someone has been threatening the vice president, Nick, and due to a particular nasty threat, he ordered the Secret Service to make sure all of his and Sam`s family were safe, thus the reason why everyone landed up in the secret underground placement. There is a lot of twist and turns that I did not see coming and do not want to spoil for anyone, but without giving any spoilers, here is what I can say. The main investigations going on are , the crime scene Sam was at when she was taken and secondly, the investigation of the threats ( led by the Feds, our lovely friend Agent Hill), and a third investigation that is connected to the threat investigation. Just like with Marie`s other series, I have read the Fatal Series multiple times. In fact, before reading Fatal Threat, I re-read the entire series. To be clear with you, I love this series to death. Its one of my favorites and right up my alley as the saying goes. I love reading this series because its fun, sexy, suspenseful, and emotional. I love this series because I care about the characters and their decisions that their like my family and friends too. Sometimes, I forget its all fictional... Anyways, Fatal Threat had me on my knees the whole way through and I am still not sure how I survived it, so a re-re-read is definitely on the to-do list.

“Thank you, Brant,” Sam said to the agent in charge of Nick’s Secret Service detail.
“You’re welcome.” Brant paused before he added, “I know we’ve had this conversation before, Mrs. Cappuano, but I really recommend that you have a detail until we’re certain we’ve contained this threat.”
“I appreciate the recommendation, but I’ll be providing my own security through my team here. I’ll be accompanied by other armed officers everywhere I go. There’s no need to be redundant.”
“Redundant,” Nick muttered with a grunt that would’ve been laughter if the subject matter hadn’t been so grave. “Brant is suggesting added precaution, not redundancy.”
“It’s not necessary,” Sam said, digging in. The last fucking thing she needed was to be escorted around by federal agents. She may as well hang up her badge if that was going to be her reality.
“On that we disagree, my love,” Nick said. “But I’m not going to waste everyone’s time fighting a losing battle. Brant, we appreciate your thoroughness and ask you to keep us posted on the situation.”
“Will do, sir. I’ll wait for you outside.”
When they were alone, Sam looked up at Nick. “I know what you’re going to say, and—”
Nick kissed her hard. “I’ll see you at home later. Let me know if anything pops in the investigation.”
“That’s it? That’s all you’re going to say?”
“That’s it.”
“Hmm.”
“What does that mean?”
“You surprise me.”
He threw his head back and laughed. “Then my day is officially made. I’ve managed to surprise my shrewd, sexy wife.”
“I thought you were going to do the whole alpha-dog lift-your-leg thing and demand I have a detail.”
“Sorry to disappoint you on the leg lifting, babe, but we have a deal. Would I like you to have a detail? Abso-fucking-lutely. Do I understand why you won’t allow it? Yeah, I get it.
