KEVIN & CHELSEA

     GANSETT ISLAND: EPISODE 2 - KEVIN & CHELSEA

As you all know by now, I am obsessed with Marie Force. Actually, a few years back, I wrote a blog about how I first learned about Marie Force and the first series I read from her, the McCarthy`s of Gansett Island Series. Now. here we are 18 books later  Don`t worry, I plan to do a full Gansett Island run down post, but first lets talk about the latest Gansett book, Episode; Kevin and Chelsea. 

The latest book features Mac`s uncle, Kevin and Chelsea, the bartender. About a year before this book starts, Kevin moves to the island when his wife leaves him for a younger man. One night at a bar, he has a few too many drinks, that the bartender, Chelsea, has to call his big brother Mac to talk to Kevin and deal with everything going on. Kevin eventually returns to the bar and apologizes to Chelsea for his behavior and the two hit if off, and this leads to them sleeping together despite the obvious age difference, which is 16 years. The two of them began to date after Kevin becomes officially separated from his estranged wife, Deborah. During this time, his sons, Riley and Finn also decide to temporary move to the island. Now that we are all caught up, lets see what happens with Kevin and Chelsea along with the rest of the Gansett gang. 

In Gansett Island, Episode 2: Kevin & Chelsea, we return to everyone`s favorite island. Although the book predominately features Kevin and Chelsea, we also get to catch up with our other favorite couples such as Mac and Maddie, Joe and Janey as well as get a glimpse into Riley`s maybe love interest and much more. As for Kevin and Chelsea, it has been one year since their first hook up and things seem to be going well for the couple until Chelsea throws Kevin a real curve ball, that she wants to have a baby. Now, its decision time, was this just a one-night stand relationship or something he wants to last forever. Also, does he want to have another kid (Kevin is 52) or not and where will this leave him in his relationship with Chelsea. Read to find out! QUANTUM........READ ALL ABOUT IT

           QUANTUM...........READ ALL ABOUT IT 

In my previous post, the review of Delirious, I promised you all a overview of the Quantum Series as well as my thoughts on my favorite two books in the series. Now, please note that is post was written before Delirious was released. SO without further ado....there is the post that was promised!

So in case you have no idea what I`m talking about, let me catch you up. Back in 2015, Marie Force announced that she would be releasing a new series (a trilogy), under the erotic romance genre and under a slightly modified name, M.S. Force. The trilogy ( meaning that the series would consist of 3 books) were called the Quantum Series and the three books would be about one couple. All three books got great reviews and soon after readers asked Marie if she was going to expand the trilogy into a series, which she eventually did the following year. To be honest, I was initially reserved about reading this series because it was classified under the erotic genre. However, once I read the Virtuous, (Book #1), I fell in love and was hooked.

Now that the background story has been explained, lets talk about the books. So like I first mentioned, initially the series was a trilogy so the first three books, Virtuous, Valorous, and Victorious feature one main couple, Flynn and Natalie. The trilogy became a series with the release of the fourth book,  Rapturous, featuring Hayden and Addie. The fifth book was Ravenous, which released earlier this year, featuring Jasper and Ellie. Delirious will be the sixth installment, featuring Kristian and Ailee, coming out in September.  All of the links to buy the books will be linked below! Anyways, since we are all on the same page... I thought it would be cool if I pick my top 2 books of the series to review. I will be choosing Virtuous and Ravenous. Lets get started.

Virtuous is the first book in the Quantum Series. When I first read the synopsis for this book, I was a bit hesitant. To be honest, what really captured my attention, was Natalie, the female protagonist. She had this sense of mystery to her. I was interested in her story, which the readers learn more about in the second book, but even more than that I was intrigued by her maturity. I loved how she was a teacher, a career that gets a bad reputation these days due to financial reasons, but how that showed her personality. In addition, I adored her dog Flynn, despite having a bit of a phobia to them myself. I love the relations she had with her roommate and other friends as well as Flynn`s friends. One of my favorite moments in the book is how our two protagonists meet. Don`t worry, I will not ruin that surprise for you all. One thing to note is that since this was initially a trilogy the first 2 books have cliffhangers. Cliffhangers annoy me, but in this case I actually liked it because of the way that Marie had set up the release dates for the first three books (the release dates were 1 week apart).  Trust me, if you are worried about things being too raunchy, don`t worry, it is amazing. We are learning that world along with Natalie and Flynn is the perfect teacher. as I mentioned before, links to this book will be listed below as well as a link to all of the synopsis`.

Ravenous by far is my favorite book thus far. I`m not sure why...maybe because the protagonist is Jasper, the hot sexy British guy with the incredible accent. Regardless of the reason, this book is ama-zing! I would consider this book to be a toe in the erotic romance genre because that raunchy world is shown minimally than it is in the past books of this series. I love the female lead. Ellie is sweet, strong, and determined as seen within the first chapter of the book. Jasper, the male lead, is a guy who seems to be chill from the outside, but does have his own demons to deal with, aka his father, his heritage, his name! I love the way this book takes the friendship that was established years prior is taken to the next level during the course of this book in the most unexpected way possible. Since this is the third member of the Quantum group, it is interesting to note how similar and different each of the guys are from each other. Overall, this book is too good, and one of the best books I have read. It has charm, elegance, love, jealousy, betrayal, family issues, and much more. I really think you guys should give this a whirl.

A question that people often ask is that is it necessary to read the books in order. To me, the answer would be yes because the books would make much more sense if you read it in order, but its your call at the end of the day. So by now, you all know that I`m a huge fan of Marie Force as well as anything she recommends. Not sure if I have talked about this here on the blog, but Marie established her own publishing brand, called Jack`s Publishing House. At Jack`s Publishing House, Marie and her team have publish many novels since their opening; however this new arrival is a bit different from her prior predecessors. Marie Force is a contemporary romance and romantic suspense author, so it would only make sense that she publish books of those genres, at least for the first couple of years of her new business, which she did do. Now that the business is of its feet a bit, Marie announced a couple month ago that she would be publishing 2 historical romance novels. I was not sure what to expect because I have never read a historical romance novel unless you count the Clockwork Trilogy by Cassandra Clare, but I consider them to be historical young adult series. Honestly, I was surprised on how much I liked the book and the genre overall. I think I need to find more historical romance novels.

The novel is called His Hand-Me-Down Countess written by Sorcha Mowbray. The book takes place in London during the mid-19th century surrounding the inevitable marriage between Achilles Denton, soon to be Earl of Stonemere and Lady Theodore Lawton. The future Earl of Stonemere is a former soldier, who is scarred by this last tour, expected to take responsibilities of being the Earl as well as marrying his late brother`s fiancee. He is further attempting to keep certain bedroom secrets about himself and details about his past romances. Theodore Lawton prides herself on being an independent women, a women beyond her time, but an agreement made by her father has put her in this unwanted situation. Read to find out both of the protagonists attempt to cope with the situation neither of them wants to be in.

This book is full of love, mystery, twist, and turns. I think you guys will really enjoy it If you are hesitant about steeping into this book, don`t be. It is a great read. Life is all about the risks you take I think stepping into another genre that you have never stepped into is a good risk. My suggestion would be to read a sneak peak, and if you like what you are reading, then to take the risk. If you don`t, then do not. I think this novel is for the people that love romance, mystery, surprises, and betrayal. I loved every minute of it and hope you have the same ride that I had.
